I'm Cathy, a brand and web designer.

I’m a brand designer with a passion for creating outstanding logos and brands and designing websites. If you want your business to stand out and your website to draw visitors in, you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve been constantly improving and improving myself. 2019. I graduated as a web developer in 2007 and completed a comprehensive marketing specialist training in 2021, and although I’m not a marketer, I use my marketing knowledge every step of the way to build websites and brands. I take an in-depth approach to every project and try to understand the specifics of you and your industry.

Experience and training

There have actually been more training courses, seminars and workshops, but here are the most important ones that have really helped me in my work.

I knew already back in 2020 that UI/UX was my field of interest, when I first came across it. Since then, I have done extensive self-study in both UI and UX, although I didn’t have an official certificate to show for it. I also believe it’s important to refresh and update my knowledge from time to time, which is why I felt the need to dive deeper into the subject and continue learning.

The UI is what the user sees. UX is what the user experiences.

This specialisation training consisted of four sessions:
Visual Elements of User Interface Design
UX Design Fundamentals
Web Design: Strategy and Information Architecture
Web Design: Wireframes to Prototypes

I learnt how to use AI in a smart and ethical way. I started using and experimenting with AI as soon as ChatGPT came to us. From this training, I got tips on how to use AI to its full potential. I learned practical ways to speed up workflow while maintaining the tone of voice of my brand.

I use AI as a creative tool, not as a substitute. And I do so ethically, without sharing customer data.

If I used to think I was not much of a writer, Ben Sauer seems to be able to get anyone to write. I had been quietly writing for a year before this training, and now I feel that I really like putting texts together and telling stories.

Much of the content you see on my website is written by me. I can’t tell you exactly which ones, but if you ask me personally, I can lift the veil of secrecy.

I learned how to create a clear, meaningful and differentiated brand and value proposition that speaks to the right people.

Topics covered: defining a brand’s market position, brand design structure and visuals, brand presentation, experience and cognition, writing a brand story.

I looked at branding through the prism of customer experience. How each touchpoint strengthens (or weakens) brand credibility and recognition.

Lavii’s training gave me some good tips on how to build trust in a website and make it actually bring customers. I learnt what elements are essential for any successful website page.

There was a time when I thought that as a service provider I had to offer as many services as possible. I also planned to start offering marketing services, but soon decided to focus on logo, brand design and web projects.

However, I took away knowledge about marketing copywriting, Google and Meta marketing and personal branding.

Although I don’t provide marketing services, I use my marketing knowledge to advise clients and create online texts.

That’s where my journey as a website designer started. From this training I got a solid grounding, I learned how to write code (HTML, CSS, PHP, JS, MySql). Even though I don’t use coding on a daily basis any more (AI does it for me), I can handle more complex and large scale projects thanks to this skill base. I often create custom solutions and I know how to get out of various errors that can occur on websites.

In addition, UI/UX design was part of the training, which I started to learn more about independently. UX (user experience) is one of my favourite topics. I use my knowledge when creating any web project.

Other topics covered during the training: project management, teamwork, Adobe PhotoShop, Figma prototyping, web design and development as a whole.

Creativity and design have been with me all my life, from school I designed birthday presents for myself and my classmates. In 2018, I discovered graphic design in a more profound way for myself.

This training gave me my first knowledge of logo design principles and structures. My journey as a designer began.
